I didn’t have as many problems planning an outside wedding as I thought I would. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Having the natural beauty of the outdoors saved us a lot of money on decorations. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. Instead of having our wedding ceremony and reception on the beach or in a garden, I chose to have it in the park. I found there were several great locations that would work out perfectly for an outdoor wedding.

Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. I found out you need to have a plan B, in case inclement weather unexpectly arises. It’s a good idea to have a tent ready to continue your ceremony if it becomes necessary.

Plan “A” was setting up a gorgeous trellis for our ceremony to be performed under and canopies for the reception. I mainly concentrated on the decorations for our wedding table and the reception tables. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. By using artificial flowers I thought we may be able to avoid any univited guests, like bees. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and didn’t look artificial at all. Planning this wedding wasn’t all that hard, but there was a little more than I expected. Like, making sure there were citronella candles all around, rest rooms close by and making sure our cake was kept cool until ready to be cut.

I found quite a few terrific accessories that I could use for the reception. Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. For each of our guests there were beautiful chrome bottle openers in lovely designed favor boxes, as a summer favor. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.

I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They do customizing for the bride and groom. All I had to do was send in a head shot picture of me and my fiance and they custom made a bride and groom cake topper with our faces. What a wonderful momento of our wedding day. Our friends and family were really loved the cake topper and gave us a lot of compliments on it. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. You wouldn’t believe all the nice accessories you can buy online.

It was the perfect wedding and reception, just like I had hoped for. Plan B never had to be used, since the weather was so beautiful, and thankfully it remained that way through the whole evening. The DJ we hired was really exceptional and I’m sure that the music played on long after my new husband and I left for our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.

You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

I found quite a few terrific accessories that I could use for the reception. I’d love to do this again and have a wedding renewal in the park, maybe for an anniversary, someday.

As far as reception supplies, they had everything. Along with the glassware I added beautiful candles to make each table setting as elegant as possible. If I were having a Vegas theme reception I could have gotten the cute little novelty favors they have for it, like keychains, photo books and more.

As wedding favors I chose crystal paperweights for all of our guests. Athough the favors were an added touch of elegance all on their own, I packaged them in exquisite little favor boxes. My favorite item I purchased was our cake topper. The cake topper was the most exquisite part of our wedding cake. The beautiful satin bow and butterfly just made our cake even more beautiful.

Our wedding décor and wedding favors seemed to make quite an impression. Some of the guests came up and thanked me for their gifts and told me how beautiful they were. What I really liked about this place I shopped was the fact they have more than just cake toppers and a ring bearer pillow. They have everything you need for birthdays, showers and bachelorette parties too. My sister just told me the other day that she got all the favors and supplies she needed for my bridal shower at the same place I bought my wedding supplies. She said mom had told her about it too.

Filling out our thank you cards and working out all the reception arrangements was another thing I’m grateful for my mom doing for me. I couldn’t have done it without you, mom. When I was married many years ago the only options you had was a church wedding or a county building to get married. Today there are so many various weddings you can plan, that you can have the wedding you always wanted. I’ve heard of weddings where the location is out of state or even the country and all the friends and famliy fly to that location to have the wedding ceremony. It’s like having a family elopement. In a few months my daughter will be married and I offered to help her plan her wedding and she decided to have a country western wedding. This wedding is going to be the wedding of the year and probably won’t be forgotten for a long time. Thanks to my daughters great country themed wedding, she’s given me a great idea for our anniversary.

I also ordered place card holders that they could use later as picture frames. I hope everyone likes the crystal figurines I bought as wedding favors. All in all, I think it was a fabulous reception.
One of our guests wanted to know where I got our guestbook and pen set and commented on what a lovely job I did on the reception decorations. There was a guest whose daughter is getting married in a couple of months and she’s gonna tell her about this place.

This gorgeous white brocade album even had a place for scrapbooking and a special place to keep momentos.] I made sure I had a lot of keepsakes to hang on to and plenty of photos too.
I loved their album despins so much that I bought two, one for the wedding and one for the honeymoon. With all the pictures we took on ou honeymoon, my album will be filled with the memories of the great time we shared there. My sister really knew what she was talking about.
